The Multi-Tech Systems SocketModem® iCell and SocketModem Cell embedded wireless modems are complete, ready-to-integrate communications devices that offer standards-based quad-band GSM/GPRS Class 10 performance. The Multi-Tech Systems SocketModem iCell and SocketModem Cell embedded wireless modems allow developers to add wireless communication to products with a minimum of development time and expense. The iCell embedded wireless modem contains an embedded Universal IP stack that has the intelligence to allow for automatic/persistent connectivity for mission critical applications and enhanced M2M functionality. These Multi-Tech Systems communication devices feature universal socket connectivity and provide packet data up to 85.6K bps.

European Version

The European version of the iCell and Cell quad-band modems is set to a 900/1800 MHz default.

Multi-Tech’s Universal IP consists of a common set of TCP/IP networking protocols and M2M (machine-to-machine) applications implemented using a standard AT command interface.
