Monolithic Power Systems MP2155 High Efficiency Single Inductor Buck-Boost Converters with 2.2A Switches are highly efficient, low quiescent current buck-boost converters designed to operate from an input voltage above, below, and equal to the output voltage. MP2155 offers an input voltage from 2V to 5.5V to achieve an adjustable output voltage (1.5V to 5V). With an input from 2.7V to 5.5V, MP2155 can supply a maximum 1A current to load at 3.3V output voltage. MP2155 uses a current mode, fixed frequency PWM control for optimal stability and transient response. The fixed 1MHz switching frequency and integrated low RDS(ON) N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs minimize the solution footprint while maintaining high efficiency. MP2155 provides power solutions for products powered by a one-cell Lithium-Ion or multi-cell alkaline battery applications where the output voltage is within battery voltage range. To ensure the longest battery life, MP2155 features an optional pulse skipping mode to reduce switching frequency under light load conditions. For other low noise applications where variable frequency power save mode may cause interference, the logic control input MODE pin forces fixed frequency PWM operation under all load conditions. Monolithic Power Systems MPQ8632D High Efficiency Step-Down Converters are fully integrated, high frequency, synchronous rectified step-down switch mode converters designed to achieve 4A/6A/8A/10A/12A/15A/20A output current over a wide input supply range with excellent load and line regulation. MPQ8632D's fully integrated protection features include over-current protection, over-voltage protection, and thermal shutdown. Using Constant-On-Time (COT) control mode, MPQ8632D offers a fast transient response and ease loop stabilization. An external resistor programs the operating frequency from 200kHz to 1MHz, and the frequency keeps nearly constant as input supply varies with the feedforward compensation. Though the default under voltage lockout threshold is internally set at 4.1V, a resistor network on the enable pin can increase this threshold. The soft start pin controls the output voltage startup ramp. An open drain power good signal indicates that the output is within nominal voltage range. These features make the MPQ8632D High Efficiency Step-Down Converters well-suited for telecom & networking systems, base stations, servers, personal video recorders, flat panel television & monitors, and distributed power systems.
Monolithic Power Systems MP2935 4-phase PWM Controller is a high-efficiency, 4-phase, synchronous, buck-switching PWM controller with an SVID interface for high-performance Intel processors. The multi-phase PWM output signals can be configured for up to 4-phase operation with interleaved switching. MP2935 adopts three-logic-level PWM outputs for enhanced noise immunity and flexible fault management. Depending on the power states set by SVID command, the multi-phase channel can switch between multiphase and single-phase operation. In addition, MP2935 supports programmable load-line resistance. As a result, the output voltage is always optimally positioned for a load transient. The chip also provides accurate and reliable short-circuit protection with adjustable current limit threshold and a delayed VR_RDY output that is masked during on-the-fly output voltage changes to eliminate false triggering. MP2935 performance is specified over the junction temperature range of -10°C to 125°C. The chip is available in 40-lead QFN package.
Monolithic Power Systems MP2681 CV/CV Controller is designed as a highly integrated Li-Ion or Li-polymer switch mode battery charge controller with full protection and status indication. The device integrates a precision voltage reference and charge status indications suitable for AC adapter input and cradle charger applications. The MP2681 automatically detects the battery cell through a battery ID resistor and regulates the battery voltage according to the corresponding cell configurations: 3S1P, 3S2P, 4S1P, 4S2P, 5S1P and 5S2P. Then, the AC adapter output is automatically regulated according to the battery configuration chosen. In addition, if the battery pack does not have an ID resistor, the designer can configure the charge termination by setting a dedicated voltage to the ID pin according to the six pre-set VID values representing each battery configuration. The MP2681 charges the battery in three phases: pre-charge, constant current and constant voltage. Charge is terminated when the current reaches a minimum set level. An internal charge timer provides safety backup. The MP2681 provides a fixed pre-charge mode for deeply-discharged batteries and safety features that include battery temperature monitoring, NTC control, charge time-out and fault control.
Monolithic Power Systems MP3910 Boost PWM Controller is designed to drive an external MOSFET capable of handling more than 10A current. It has a typical operational current of 288µA and can accommodate flyback, boost for non-isolated and isolated applications. The device's current mode control offers inherently simple loop compensation and cycle-by-cycle current limit, under-voltage lockout, soft-start, internal regulated supply and slope compensation to minimize the external component count. Though designed for Flyback applications, designers can also use the MP3910 for other topologies including Boost, Forward and Sepic. The 1A gate driver minimizes the power loss of the external MOSFET while allowing the use of a wide variety of standard threshold devices. Additionally, MP3910 has pulse skipping mode function that improves the efficiency with light load or no load. It also provides hiccup protection for OLP, OVP, and SCP condition. The design makes the MP3910 Boost PWM Controller well-suited for PoE PDs, TV power, brick modules, offline controller, and isolated telecom suppliers.
Monolithic Power Systems MP4050 is a constant current LED driver integrated with an internal 500V MOSFET. It is specifically designed for energy efficient and low cost LED bulk replacement applications. MP4050 is designed to drive high-brightness LEDs from an 85VAC to 265VAC line. It is also useable under DC input voltage. The accurate output LED current is achieved by an averaging internal current feedback loop. Constant LED current is delivered quietly by switching the internal MOSFET at a frequency regulated above 22kHz. MP4050 can be directly powered by the high input voltage. An internal high voltage current source regulates supply voltage without external circuitry. MP4050 features various protections like Thermal Shutdown (TSD), VCC Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO), Open Lamp Protection and Short Lamp Protection. All of there features make MP4050 an ideal solution for simple, off-line and non-isolated LED applications. MP4050 is available in the TSOT23-5 and SOIC8 packages.
MPS MP8760 voltage regulator is a fully-integrated,
highfrequency, synchronous, rectified, step-down, switch-mode converter.
It offers a very compact solution to achieve a 6A output current over a
wide input-supply range with excellent load and line regulation. The
MP8760 operates at high efficiency over a wide output-current load
range. The MP8760 uses Constant-On-Time (COT) control mode to provide
fast transient response and ease loop stabilization. An external
resistor programs the operating frequency from 200kHz to 1MHz. The
frequency stays nearly constant as the input supply varies with the
feed-forward compensation. The default under voltage lockout threshold
is 4.1V, but a resistor network on the enable pin can increase this
threshold. The soft start pin controls the output voltage startup ramp.
An open drain power good signal indicates that the output is within
nominal voltage range. It has full integrated protection features that
include over-current protection, over-voltage protection and thermal
shutdown. The MPS MP8760 voltage regulator is available in a 3mm×4mm QFN
package, and requires a minimal number of readily-available components.
MPS MP3426 voltage regulators are current-mode step up converters with a 6A, 90mOhm internal switch that provides a highly efficient regulator with a fast response. The MP3426 features a programmable frequency of up to 2MHz that allows for easy filtering and reduces noise. An external compensation pin gives the user flexibility in setting loop dynamics, and uses small, low-ESR, ceramic output capacitors. Soft-start results in a small inrush current and can be programmed with an external capacitor. The MP3426 operates from an input voltage as low as 3.2V and can generate up to a 35V output. The MP3426’s features include under-voltage lockout, current limiting, and thermal overload protection. MPS MP3426 voltage regulators are available in a low-profile 14-pin 3mm×4mm QFN package with an exposed pad.
MPS MPQ4559 voltage regulators are high frequency step-down switching regulators with integrated internal high-side high voltage power MOSFET. It provides 1.5A output with current mode control for fast loop response and easy compensation. The wide 3.8V to 55V input range accommodates a variety of step-down applications, including those in automotive input environment. A 12µA shutdown mode supply current allows use in battery-powered applications. High power conversion efficiency over a wide load range is achieved by scaling down the switching frequency at light load condition to reduce the switching and gate driving losses. The frequency foldback helps prevent inductor current runaway during startup and thermal shutdown provides reliable, fault tolerant operation. By switching at 2MHz, the MPQ4559 is able to prevent EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) noise problems, such as those found in AM radio and ADSL applications. MPS MPQ4559 voltage regulators are available in small 3mm x 3mm QFN10 and SOIC8 with exposed pad packages.
MPS MP22xx step-down converters are high-frequency, synchronous, rectified, switch-mode converters with built-in power MOSFETs. MP22xx converters offer a compact solution to achieve a 2A/3A continuous output current with excellent load and line regulation over a wide input supply range. MPS MP4030 LED lighting drivers are TRIAC dimmable, primary-side-control offline LED lighting controllers which can achieve high power factors and accurate output LED currents for isolate lighting applications. Proprietary real current control method can control LED current accurately from the primary side information. MP4030 drivers can significantly simplify LED lighting system design by eliminating the secondary side feedback components and the optocoupler. MPS MP4030 LED lighting drivers implement power factor correction function and work in boundary conduction mode for reducing MOSFET switching losses. MPS MP5000 load switches are protection devices designed to protect circuitry on the output (source) from transients on the input (VCC). MP5000 also protect VCC from undesired shorts and transients coming from the source. At start up, inrush current is limited by limiting the slew rate at the source. The slew rate is controlled by a small capacitor at the dv/dt pin. The dv/dt pin has an internal circuit that allows the customer to float this pin (no connect) and still receives a 1.5ms ramp time at the source. The max load at the output (source) is current limited. This is accomplished by utilizing a sense FET topology. The magnitude of the current limit is controlled by an external resistor from the I-Limit pin to the Source pin. An internal charge pump drives the gate of the power device, allowing a very low on-resistance DMOS power FET of just 0.07Ohms. MPS MP5000 load switches are protected from the VCC input being too low or too high. Under Voltage Lockout (UVLO) assures that VCC is above the minimum operating threshold, before the power device is turned on. If VCC goes above the high output threshold, the source voltage will be limited.
MPS MPM3810 voltage regulators are modules with monolithic step-down switch mode converters with built-in internal power MOSFETs and inductors. MPM3810 is designed to simplify power system design and provide ease of use. The DC-DC module has a small surface-mount 3mm x 2.5mm x 0.9mm QFN package. MPS MP157 EasyPower voltage converters are primary-side regulators which provide accurate and constant voltage (CV) regulation without the Opto-coupler. MPS MP6400 Supervisory Circuit is a microprocessor that monitors and provides reset function for system voltages from 0.4V. Monolithic Power Systems HFC0300 Variable Off Time Controller uses a fixed-peak-current technique to decrease its frequency as the load lightens.
