Microchip Technology RE46C190 Smoke Detector ICs

Microchip Technology RE46C190 low voltage, low current programmable smoke detector ICs provide all the required features for a photoelectric smoke detector with minimal external components. Microchip Technology RE46C190 smoke detector ICs feature a boost regulator that ensures proper operation of the infrared diode and piezo horn under low battery conditions. An internal oscillator strobes power to the smoke detection circuitry every 10 seconds to keep the standby current to a minimum. The detection rate is increased if smoke is sensed to verify an alarm condition. A high gain mode is available for push button chamber testing. Microchip Technology RE46C190 smoke detector ICs incorporate a gain-selectable photo amplifier for use with an infrared emitter/detector pair. The RE46C190 is designed for use in smoke detectors that comply with Underwriters Laboratory Specification UL217 and UL268.
