The Freescale Semiconductor DEMOEM is a low cost development system supporting Freescale MCF51EM256 and MCF51EM128 microcontrollers. MCF51EM256 and MCF51EM128 MCUs, along with the Freescale Semiconductor DEMOEM board, make it easy to develop a turnkey electrical metering solution with customized silicon designed specifically for the electrical metering market. The DEMOEM Development System consists of a DEMOEM Base Board and a DCF51EM256 Daughter Card. The Embedded Multilink circuitry on the Freescale Semiconductor DEMOEM board allows the processor connected to the DEMOEM to be debugged and programmed via USB from a PC. In addition, the demo board can be powered using the USB bus.
Freescale Semiconductor MCF51EM ColdFire® V1 Microcontrollers integrate on-chip 16-bit ADC, a flexible LCD controller, RTC with tamper detection and dual 128K / 64K blocks of Flash for robust field firmware updates.
