VIPER® Connectors
|
Shielded, High-Density, High-Speed, Press-Fit Connectors
Amphenol Backplane Systems
introduces
VIPER®
,
a powerful new shielded, high-density, high-speed press-fit
backplane
and
daughtercard interconnect
platform, providing 63 differential signals per linear inch.
VIPER
was designed to meet the demanding requirements of current and next-generation rugged military, aerospace, and industrial applications. The
VIPER connector
platform offers the ability to scale from 80 Mbps to over 10 Gbps while retaining the same
VITA 46 backplane
slot pitch at 20.3mm to 25.4mm. The new backplane signal contacts incorporate a highly reliable 4-points-of-contact beam design. The
daughtercard
and
backplane
contacts are stamped using Olin's high quality C7025 cooper alloy and plated using nickel underplate with 50 microinches of gold on all mating surfaces.
Amphenol
offers multiple variations, including
RF
and
fiber
optic
modules into the
VIPER
assembly providing design options for both standard for custom configurations.
