Intersil's ISL78201/6 40V 2.5A Buck Controllers are AEC Q100 qualified synchronous buck or boost buck controllers with a high-side MOSFET and low-side driver integrated. In buck mode, both devices support a wide input range of 3V to 40V. With the ISL78201 in boost-buck mode, the input range can be extended down to 2.5V and output regulation can be maintained when VIN drops below VOUT, enabling sensitive electronics to remain on during cold-cranking and start-stop applications. The ISL78206 can be operated in synchronous and non-synchronous buck topologies. Intersil's HIP2103 and HIP2104 half bridge drivers are designed for applications using DC motors, three-phase brushless DC motors, or other similar loads. Two inputs (HI and LI) are provided to independently control the high side driver (HO) and the low side driver (LO). Furthermore, the two inputs can be configured to enable/disable the device, thus lowering the number of connections to a microcontroller and lowering costs. The very low IDD bias current in the Sleep Mode prevents battery drain when the device is not in use, thus eliminating the need for an external switch to disconnect the driver from the battery. A fail-safe mechanism is included to improve system reliability and to minimize the possibility of catastrophic bridge failures due to controller malfunction. Internal logic prevents both outputs from turning on simultaneously when HI and LI are both high simultaneously. Dead-time is still required on the rising edge of the HI (or LI) input when the LI (or HI) input transitions low. Integrated pull-down resistors on all of the inputs (LI, HI, VDen and VCen) reduces the need for external resistors. An active low resistance pull-down on the LO output ensures that the low side bridge FET remains off during the Sleep Mode or when VDD is below the undervoltage lockout (UVLO) threshold. The HIP2104 has a 12V linear regulator and a 3.3V linear regulator with separate enable pins. The 12V regulator provides internal bias for VDD and the 3.3V regulator provides bias for an external microcontroller (and/or other low voltage ICs), thus eliminating the need for discrete LDOs or DC/DC converters. The HIP2103 is available in a 3x3mm, 8 Ld TDFN package and the HIP2104 is available in a 4x4mm, 12 Ld DFN package.
Intersil ISL2853x and ISL2863x 5V Instrumentation Amplifiers are zero-drift rail-to-rail input/output programmable gain instrumentation amplifiers (PGIA). Utilizing voltage-mode control with input voltage feed-forward compensation, Intersil ISL8115 maintains a constant loop gain for optimal transient response, especially for applications with a wide input voltage range. ISL8115 protects against overcurrent conditions by inhibiting the PWM operation while monitoring the current with DCR of the output inductor, or a precision resistor. It also has a pre-POR overvoltage protection option that provides some protection to the load if the upper MOSFET is shorted. Intersil ISL8025 / ISL8025A Synchronous Buck Regulators are highly efficient, monolithic, synchronous step-down DC/DC converters that can deliver 5A of continuous output current from a 2.7V to 5.5V input supply. These Intersil devices use current mode control architecture to deliver a very low duty cycle operation at high frequency with fast transient response and excellent loop stability. ISL8025 / ISL8025A integrate a very low ON-resistance P-Channel (45mΩ) high-side FET and N-Channel (19mΩ) low-side FET to maximize efficiency and minimize external component count. The 100% duty-cycle operation allows less than 225mV dropout voltage at 5A output current. The operation frequency of the pulse-width modulator (PWM) is adjustable from 500kHz to 4MHz. The default switching frequency, which is set by connecting the FS pin high, is 1MHz for the ISL8025 and 2MHz for the ISL8025A.
Intersil ISL29035 Digital Light Sensor is an integrated ambient and infrared light-to-digital converter with I2C (SMBus compatible) interface. The advanced self-calibrated photodiode array of this Intersil device emulates human eye response with excellent IR rejection. The on-chip analog-to-digital converter is capable of rejecting 50Hz and 60Hz flicker caused by artificial light sources. The Lux range select feature allows users to program the Lux range for optimized counts/Lux. For ambient light sensing, an internal 16-bit ADC has been designed based upon the charge-balancing technique. The ADC conversion time is nominally 90ms and is user adjustable from 11µs to 90ms, depending on oscillator frequency and ADC resolution. In normal operation, typical current consumption is 57µA. Two power-down modes are provided to further minimize power consumption. If polling is chosen over continuous measurement of light, the auto-power-down function shuts down the whole chip after each ADC conversion for the measurement. The other power-down mode is controlled by software via the I2C interface. The power consumption can be reduced to less than 0.3µA when powered down. ISL29035 is specified for operation over the -40°C to +85°C ambient temperature range.
Intersil ISL29147 is a low power Ambient Light Sensor and Proximity Sensor. The ALS function measures the amount of light (in the visible spectrum) incident on the ISL29147. The ALS function has a programmable ambient IR-rejection, which allows fine tuning of light source variations and is ideal for light sensor applications under dark protective glass. The ALS provides a 12-bit measurement. A passive optical filter removes unwanted wavelengths (IR or Ultraviolet) to ensure accurate ALS measurement. ISL29147 has a built-in IR-LED for the proximity function. The proximity function includes a new offset adjustment to compensate for the IR light reflected off the inside of the protective glass cover and back to the ISL29147 sensor. This offset adjustment allows the sensor to compensate for these internal reflections and preserve the dynamic range of the proximity measurement. The built-in current-driver pulses an external infrared LED at a programmed current for 90µs. The infrared light that is reflected and received by the ISL29147 is digitized by an 8-bit ADC. The proximity sensor also has a passive optical filter designed to pass IR and reject visible wavelengths.

Intersil ISL8002 Synchronous Buck Regulators are highly efficient, monolithic, synchronous step-down DC/DC converters that can deliver up to 2A of continuous output current from a 2.7V to 5.5V input supply. Intersil ISL8002 uses peak current mode control architecture to allow very low duty cycle operation. They operate at either 1MHz or 2MHz switching frequency, thereby providing superior transient response and allowing for the use of small inductors. They also have excellent stability and provide both internal and external compensation options. ISL8002, integrates very low rDS(ON) MOSFETs in order to maximize efficiency. In addition, since the high side MOSFET is a PMOS, the need for a Boot capacitor is eliminated, thereby reducing external component count. They can operate at 100% duty cycle (at 1MHz) with a dropout of 200mV at 2A output current. ISL8002 can be configured for either PFM (discontinuous conduction) or PWM (continuous conduction) operation at light load. PFM provides high efficiency by reducing switching losses at light loads and PWM reduces noise susceptibility and RF interference. This device is offered in a space saving 8 pin 2mmx2mm TDFN lead free package with exposed pad for improved thermal performance. The complete converter occupies less than 0.10in² area.

Intersil ZL8800 digital power management IC is a dual output digital DC/DC controller. Each output can operate independently or in a dual phase configuration for high current applications. The ZL8800 supports a wide range of output voltages (0.54V to 5.5V) operating from input voltages as low as 4.5V up to 14V. With the fully digital ChargeMode Control, this IC will respond to a transient load step within a single switching cycle. This unique compensation-free modulation technique allows designs to meet transient specifications with minimum output capacitance. The Intersil ZL8800 preforms complex functions such as inter-IC phase current balancing, sequencing, and fault spreading which eliminates complicated power supply managers with multiple external discrete components. The ZL8800 features cycle by cycle output overcurrent protection. The input voltage, output voltages and DrMOS/MOSFET driver supply voltages are overvoltage and overvoltage protected. Integrated LDO regulators allow the ZL8800 to be operated from a single input supply and eliminate the need for additional linear regulators.
Intersil ZL2102 digital power management IC is an integrated digital power regulator with auto compensation and power management functions. This flexible and integrated solution can be configured using the Power Navigator graphical user interface. This synchronous buck converter operates from a 4.5V to 14V input supply and provides from 0.54V to 5.5V output voltage at up to 6A. The ZL2102 can be configured for most applications using only hardware pin straps to adjust the switching frequency, output voltage, UVLO, soft start ramp/delay, sequencing, and SMBus address. For more advanced configurations, the ZL2102 supports over 70 PMBus commands. Output voltage/current is factory calibrated. Internal synchronous power MOSFETs enable the Intersil ZL2102 to deliver continuous loads up to 6A with high efficiency. An internal Schottky bootstrap diode reduces discrete component count. This IC also supports phase spreading to reduce system input capacitance. The ZL2102 uses the SMBus with PMBus protocol for communication with a host controller and the Zilker's proprietary Digital-DC bus for interoperability between other Zilker Labs devices.
Intersil ISL95833 Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller IC provides a complete solution for IMVP-7/VR12™ compliant microprocessor and graphic processor core power supplies. Intersil ISL95833 provides the control and protection for two Voltage Regulators (VRs). The first VR, typically for VCORE, incorporates 1 integrated driver and can operate in 2- or 1-phase configurations. The second VR, typically for Graphics, is a single phase regulator incorporating an integrated driver. The two VRs share a serial control bus to communicate with the CPU and achieve lower cost and smaller board area compared with the two-chip approach. Both VRs utilize Intersil's Robust Ripple Regulator R3 Technology™. Intersil ISL78208 3A Dual Buck Regulator is capable of 3A per channel with continuous output current. With an input range of 4.5V to 28V, it provides a high frequency power solution for a variety of point of load applications. The PWM controller in the IS L78208 drives an internal switching N-Channel power MOSFET and requires an external Schottky diode to generate the output voltage. Intersil ISLA112P50 and ISLA214P50 are 12-bit and 14-bit 500MSPS analog-to-digital converters designed with Intersil's proprietary FemtoCharge™ technology on a standard CMOS process. FemtoCharge is a charge-domain signal processing technology that drastically reduces the power consumption over traditional voltage-domain design techniques. These Intersil devices utilize two time-interleaved 250MSPS unit ADCs to achieve the ultimate sample rate of 500MSPS. A single 500MHz conversion clock is presented to the converter, and all interleave clocking is managed internally. The proprietary Intersil Interleave Engine performs automatic correction of offset, gain, and sample time mismatches between the unit ADCs to optimize performance. An SPI port on these devices allows for extensive configurability of the ADC. The SPI also controls the interleave correction circuitry, allowing the system to issue continuous calibration commands and configure many dynamic parameters. Digital output data is presented in selectable LVDS or CMOS formats.

The ISL59960 equalizes up to 4000 feet (1200 meters) of CAT 5/CAT 6 cable. 960MegaQ™ compensates for high frequency cable losses of up to 70dB at 9MHz, as well as source amplitude variations up to ±3dB. Intersil's ISL78223 Full-Bridge PWM Controller is a high-performance zero-voltage switching (ZVS) full-bridge PWM controller. It achieves ZVS operation by driving the upper bridge FETs at a fixed 50% duty cycle while the lower bridge FETs are trailing-edge modulated with adjustable resonant switching delays. Adding to the ISL78223’s feature set are average current monitoring and soft-start. The average current signal may be used for average current limiting, current sharing circuits and average current mode control. Additionally, the ISL78223 supports both voltage- and current-mode control.
Intersil ISL26102 and ISL26104 analog to digital converters provide a low-noise programmable gain amplifier along with a 24-bit Delta-Sigma Analog-to-Digital Converter with two channel (ISL26102) or four channel (ISL26104) differential, multiplexed inputs. The devices feature conversion rates ranging from 2.5Sps to 4kSps, and use a serial interface for communication.
The on-chip low-noise programmable-gain amplifier provides gains of 1 to 128, which supports ±19.5mVFS from a 5V reference. The high input impedance allows direct connection of sensors to ensure the specified measurement accuracy without additional circuitry.
