Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, is shifting into high gear as Tony Kanaan heads home to Brazil in preparation for the Itaipava São Paulo Indy 300 set for Sunday, May 5.
The challenging race through the streets of Sao Paulo serves as the lead-in to the Indianapolis 500 on May 26. It features a 2.5-mile, 11-turn temporary street course that incorporates the Sambadrome as the front stretch and is located in the city’s Santana district.
“We’ll be cheering on Tony while he tackles this challenging course in the birthplace of legendary Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna and Brazilian auto racing pioneer Chico Landi,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Vice President of Business Development. “We’re sure many of his countrymen also will be cheering him on as the Brazilian superstar returns to his home country to race for his South American fans.”

Mouser launched its third IZOD IndyCar season with Kanaan behind the wheel of the #11 IndyCar at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The company first sponsored IndyCar in 2011 as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies and how they impact the high-tech world of IndyCar racing.
Since every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into an IndyCar is all about precision and gaining a performance edge out on the track, IndyCar provides the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading manufacturers.
"It’s been so exciting to watch Tony drive the #11 IndyCar so far this season. He pushes hard every race and never gives up. He is such a talented driver and is definitely due for a win this season,” McAtee added.
The 2013 IZOD IndyCar series features 19 races. The series travels to Mouser’s backyard on June 8 for the Firestone 500 at the Texas Motor Speedway. Kanaan finished 5th last year at the TMS. For the latest updates on the 2013 season, visit http://www.mouser.com/indy/.
