Harwin and Mouser Electronics are showing their support for Tony Kanaan as official partners of the 2013 KV Racing Technology team. This powerful partnership is helping provide Kanaan and his team with a competitive edge in the IZOD IndyCar® Series.
KV Racing Technology Technical Director Eric Cowdin, the head Race Engineer for Kanaan’s #11 IndyCar, and his engineers depend on Harwin’s high-reliability connectors connectors to perform in the harsh environments that surround the race track. The connectors must withstand scorching temperatures, extreme weather conditions, and violent bumps and vibrations in a rigid suspension. Along with the connectors, the engineering team relies exclusively on crimping tools from Harwin, for a secure connection in the race cars driven by Tony Kanaan and teammate Simona De Silvestro. KV Racing Technology data engineer Josh Fults and engineering assistant Matt Cummings depend on the reliability of Harwin connectors and equipment in their designs.
Harwin joined Mouser last year as an official partner in Mouser’s IndyCar program. The Mouser racing program provides a high-tech platform to showcase the newest technologies and connect with industry’s leading automotive electronic design engineers and buyers. Mouser and Harwin’s support of the KV Racing Technology team has proved to be a winning partnership. Kanaan captured his first-ever Indianapolis 500 victory in May and continued his run of success with a third-place finish at the Firestone 550 at Texas Motor Speedway in June. The upcoming schedule for the KV Racing Technology team is highlighted by the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma on Aug. 25.
“Mouser is excited to not only support KV Racing Technology but to be the preferred source for meeting the racing team’s needs for connectors and other components,” said Krystal Jackson, Mouser’s Vice President of Interconnect. “Harwin has been a great supporter of our IndyCar racing program and we value their contribution to our pursuit of cutting-edge technology. It is easy to see why auto-racing engineers would choose Harwin products to meet their harsh-environment needs.”
