Tony Kanaan - Indy 500 Winner

Mouser Welcomes Indy 500 Champ Kanaan to Mansfield Headquarters
Mayor to present key to city and proclaim Tony Kanaan Day

Mouser Electronics, Inc., a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, welcomes Indy 500 Winner Tony Kanaan to its corporate headquarters on Thursday, June 6. Racing fans and citizens are invited to a grand entrance parade along Mouser Way in Mansfield, beginning at 5 p.m. followed by an outdoor presentation and ceremony honoring the 2013 Champion at Mouser’s front entrance. Mansfield Mayor David Cook will present Kanaan with a key to the city and proclaim June 6th as Tony Kanaan Day. The media also is invited for a special press event from 5:30-6 pm at Mouser’s corporate headquarters.

Kanaan is in town visiting Mouser’s corporate headquarters during Race Week leading up to Saturday’s Firestone 550 at Texas Motor Speedway. As Mansfield’s largest private employer, Mouser is planning a grand welcome for the IndyCar champion, including a procession along Mouser Way in a classic convertible.

“We are so proud of Tony that we wanted to give him a special welcome. He has been trying for 12 years to win the Indy 500,” said Glenn Smith, Mouser President and CEO. “We wanted our employees and racing fans in the community to be able to cheer him on in person.”

Mouser is an official partner of the 2013 KV Racing Technology #11 IZOD IndyCar Series team. This year’s valued co-sponsors include TTI, Inc, Sager, Amphenol, Bivar, ebm-papst, Fluke, Hammond Manufacturing, Harwin, LEMO, Molex, Murata, NKK Switches, Ohmite, and Phoenix Contact.

To learn more about the Mouser/Kanaan connection, you can watch a video interview with Tony Kanaan at Mouser’s corporate headquarters at: http://mou.sr/GSTKHT. Mouser first sponsored IndyCar in 2011 as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies and how they affect the high-tech world of IndyCar racing. Since every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into an IndyCar is all about precision and gaining a performance edge out on the track, IndyCar provides the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading manufacturers.

The 2013 IZOD IndyCar series features 19 races. After the Firestone 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, the IndyCar series travels June 15 to the Milwaukee IndyFest, a race that has been good to Kanaan. He won two in a row at Milwaukee in 2006-07 and placed second there last year. For the latest updates on the 2013 season, visit mouser.com/indy-racing/.
