sensors
build upon
Honeywell
's popular
magnetic position sensors
and offer several advantages. These
sensors
have been designed with the latest technologies to provide reliable, cost-effective solutions to many commercial, computer, medical, and/or consumer applications requiring motor control and RPM sensing.
These products are available in three package types to suit a variety of applications. The
SS30AT
in the subminiature SOT-23 surface-mount package, and the
SS50AT
in the small SOT-89B surface-mount package, and
Honeywell
has supplied both on tape and reel for use in automated pick-and-place equipment.
The surface mount versions are mounted directly on the electrical traces on a printed circuit board (PCB). They are attached by an automatic solder reflow operation which requires no hole, so it may help reduce the cost of the PCB.

SS340RT / SS440R Series
Honeywell Unipolar Hall-Effect Digital Position Sensors
|
|
The
HoneywellSS340RT
Series and
SS440R
Series
sensors
are small, versatile
digital Hall-effect
devices that are operated by the
magnetic
field from a permanent
magnet
or an
electromagnet
. They are designed to respond to a single pole:
North (
SS340RT
Series) or South (
SS440R
Series).
These
unipolar sensors

SS349RT
and
SS449R
offer the lowest sensitivity, requiring 350 G typical to operate at 25 °C [77 °F].
These
Honeywellsensors
are available in two package styles. The
SS340RT
Series is available in the miniature SOT-23 surface mount package; the

SS311PT / SS411P Series
Honeywell Bipolar Hall-Effect Digital Position Sensors with Built-in Pull-up Resistor
|
|
Honeywell
has expanded its
Hall-effect sensor
portfolio with the new
SS311PT
and
SS411P Bipolar Hall-Effect Digital Position Sensors
with
Pull-Up Resistor
. These devices differ from
Honeywell
’s existing
digital Hall-effect sensors
in that the
SS311PT
and
SS411P
have a built-in
pull-up resistor
and a low 2.7 Vdc voltage capability—the lowest rating in
Honeywell
’s digital portfolio. Additionally, these products join the recently introduced SS30AT, SS361RT, SS461R, SS340RT, and SS440R Series
digital Hall-effect sensors
that consist of a downsized integrated circuit, resulting in lower costs for customers.
These cost-effective
Honeywellbipolar sensors
are designed to operate in simple, high-volume, cost-sensitive,
rotary sensing
applications. They are small, versatile
digital Hall-effect devices
that are operated by the magnetic field from a permanent magnet or an electromagnet, designed to respond to alternating North and South poles.
These
bipolar sensors
have enhanced
sensitivity
which allows for the use of smaller, often less expensive magnets. The internal
pull-up resistor
often eliminates the need for external components, further helping to reduce system cost. These economical
bipolar sensors
are suited for many simple, high volume, cost-sensitive,
rotary sensing
applications.
The 2.7 Vdc to 7 Vdc supply voltage range allows this device to be used in low voltage applications. The
S311PT
’s very small size requires less PCB (printed circuit board) space, allowing it to be used in smaller assemblies.
These sensors are available in two package styles: the
SS311PT
in the subminiature SOT-23 surface mount package and the
SS411P
in the leaded, flat TO-92-style package.
