FTDI FT232H UART / FIFO ICs

FTDI FT232H single channel USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480Mb/s) to UART / FIFO ICs have the capability of being configured in a variety of industry standard serial or parallel interfaces. FTDI 232H UART / FIFO ICs feature single channel USB to serial / parallel ports with a variety of configurations. FT232H devices handle the entire USB protocol on the chip. These FTDI UART / FIFO ICs are designed for a variety of applications, including single chip USB to UART (RS232, RS422, or RS485), USB to FIFO, and more. The FT232H requires USB device drivers available for free from http://www.ftdichip.com. The drivers are used to make the FT232H appear as a virtual COM port (VCP). This allows the user to communicate with the USB interface via a standard PC serial emulation port. The FTDI D2XX driver can also be used with application software to directly access the FT232H through a DLL.

FTDI UM232H Development Modules

FTDI UM232H USB-to-serial / FIFO development modules use the FT232H chip to handle the USB signaling and protocols. The UM232H module is ideal for development purposes to quickly demonstrate functionality of adding USB to a target design. The UM232H module is designed to plug into a standard 0.6” wide 28 pin DIP socket. The USB connection to a host system is via a mini-B USB connector.
