Freescale's Tower System: TWR-ELEV
The TWR-ELEV Elevator modules are the basic building block of the Freescale Tower System. Designed to connect microcontroller and peripheral modules, the Elevator modules provide the power regulation circuitry and structural integrity needed for all configurations of an assembled Tower System.
The TWR-ELEV comes packaged with two Elevator boards: “functional” and “dummy”.
- The “functional” Elevator board has:
- Common serial and expansion bus signals
- Two 2x80 connectors on backside for easy signal access and side-mounting board (i.e. LCD module)
- Power regulation circuitry
- Standardized signal assignments
- The “dummy” Elevator board:
- has only GND connectivity
- is used for structural integrity
- Both types of Elevator boards:
- Have four card-edge connectors
- Use PCI Express® connectors (x16, 90 mm/3.5" long, 164 pins)
