Altera Enpirion ES1010SI 12V Hot-Swap Power Distribution Controller

Altera Enpirion ES1010SI 12V Hot-Swap Power Distribution Controller is a full featured hot-swap power controller that targets +12V applications. Features include soft start, programmable overcurrent detection, current regulation with time delay to latch-off, all with a minimum of external components. Designers can increase the long-term reliability of their FPGA based systems by enabling the safe insertion and removal of boards by limiting dangerous inrush currents from a live backplane. When boards are inserted into a "live" system backplane, the hot swap controller detects the power supply and provides a carefully controlled power ramp up. Designers of telecommunications, enterprise, storage systems, and industrial and embedded computing equipment can upgrade or replace system boards without having to power down the entire system. Upon initial power-up, the IC can either isolate the voltage supply from the load by holding the external N-Channel MOSFET switch off or apply the supply rail directly to the load for true hot swap capability. The Enable pin must be pulled low for the device to isolate the power supply from the load. With the Enable pin held high or floating, the ES1010SI will be in true hot swap mode.

Altera Enpirion ER3105DI Synchronous Step-Down Converter

Altera Enpirion's ER3105DI Synchronous Step-Down Converter is a wide VIN synchronous buck regulator with integrated MOSFETs packaged in a 4mm x 3mm DFN package. The ER3105DI has a wide input voltage range of 3V to 36V and can support a continuous 0.5A load over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Because of the integrated MOSFETs, the ER3105DI provides an easy to use, high efficiency BOM count. The ER3105DI features a light load mode for improved efficiency at light load currents. The light load mode can be disabled if PFM mode is preferred. In addition, the ER3105DI has the ability to utilize either internal or external compensation. By integrating the MOSFETs and providing internal configuration options, minimal external components are required, reducing BOM count and complexity of design. With the wide input voltage range and reduced BOM, the ER3105DI provides an easy to implement solution for a variety of applications while giving superior performance. It provides a very robust design for industrial, battery, and FPGA power applications.

Altera Enpirion ER2120QI Synchronous Buck Regulator

Altera Enpirion ER2120QI Synchronous Buck Regulator is a step-down converter with integrated MOSFETs packaged in a 4mm x 4mm QFN package. The ER2120QI has a wide input voltage range and can support a continuous 2A load over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Because of the integrated MOSFETs, the ER2120QI delivers a small solution size and will provide more efficient solution than a linear regulator. The ER2120QI comes with a robust set of features including startup with a pre-bias load, and tight ±1% output voltage regulation over line, load, and temperature. The ER2120QI also comes with many protection features including undervoltage detection, thermal shutdown protection, and overcurrent protection. The power requirements of today's FPGAs covers a very wide range that is dependant on the FPGA type and utilization. The ER2120QI compliments the Enpirion PowerSoC products by providing a solution that is ideal for high VIN, low current applications.

Altera Enpirion EC7401QI 4-Phase Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) Controller

Altera Enpirion EC7401QI 4-Phase Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) Controller drives up to four synchronous-rectified step-down channels in parallel. The EC7401QI paired with Enpirion ET4040QI 40A powertrain is recommended for high-power applications requiring high efficiency and tight accuracy such as FPGA core rails. It supports an 8 bit VID input with selectable VR11 digital-to-analog converter (DAC) code and extended VR10 DAC code at 6.25mV per bit. The EC7401QI offers precision current sensing which provides the needed signals for precision droop, channel-current balancing, and over-current protection. This PWM controller implements a programmable internal temperature compensation function to effectively compensate for the temperature coefficient of the current sense element. This controller is capable of 2-, 3-, or 4-phase operation. Designing with both the EC7401QI and ET4040QI addresses the needs of increasingly higher core power requirements for high-performance FPGAs.

Altera Enpirion EC7100VQI Single-Phase Synchronous-Buck PWM Controller

Altera Enpirion EC7100VQI Single-Phase Synchronous-Buck PWM Controller has a wide 3.3V to 25V input voltage range and is ideal for systems that run on battery or AC-adapter power sources. The EC7100VQI is a low-cost solution for applications requiring dynamically selected slew-rate controlled output voltages. The soft-start and dynamic setpoint slew-rates are capacitor programmed. Voltage identification logic-inputs select four resistor-programmed setpoint reference voltages that directly set the output voltage of the converter between 0.5V and 1.5V, and up to 5V with a feedback voltage divider. The EC7100VQI modulator has equivalent light-load efficiency, faster transient performance, accurately regulated frequency control and all internal compensation. These updates, together with integrated MOSFET drivers and schottky bootstrap diode, allow for a high-performance regulator that is highly compact and needs few external components. The EC7100VQI has differential remote sensing for output voltage and selectable switching frequency. For maximum efficiency, the converter automatically enters diode-emulation mode (DEM) during light-load conditions such as system standby.

Altera Enpirion ET4040QI 40A Monolithic Powertrain IC

Altera Enpirion ET4040QI 40A is a high-speed, high-density, monolithic powertrain integrated circuit (IC) with integrated sensing features. It is optimized for low duty cycle operation, making it an ideal solution for FPGA core, processor, or DDR memory applications. The ET4040QI maintains excellent efficiency at operating frequencies of 1MHz or greater.  Its small package coupled with the higher operating frequencies results in a 35% improvement in power density versus competing solutions.  To obtain the improved power density, the ET4040QI utilizes 50% to 75% less inductance and significantly less capacitance than current-generation multi-phase power supply solutions. The ET4040QI enables very high efficiency delivery for single- and multi-phase controllers. Since the ET4040QI is a monolithic driver plus MOSFET, it has significantly better reliability and thermal performance versus competitive options.

Altera Enpirion EN6310QI 1A PowerSoC DC-DC Converter

Altera Enpirion EN6310QI is a member of the Enpirion high-efficiency EN6300 PowerSoC product family. The total solution footprint is <65 mm2 while showcasing excellent power efficiency over the entire operating temperature range. A complete power system-on-a-chip (PowerSoC), the EN6310QI integrates power switches, inductor, gate drive, controller, and loop compensation in a 4mm x 5mm QFN package. Unlike discrete power products, this turnkey point-of-load solution gives you a complete power system that is fully simulated, characterized, and production qualified. Output voltage settings are programmable via a simple resistor divider circuit. Output voltage can be programmed from as low as 0.6V to 3.3V. The device has a programmable soft-start ramp rate to accommodate sequencing and to prevent unwanted current inrush at start up. A power good flag is provided to indicate a fault condition. This power management IC is an excellent choice for low-power applications that require a small solution footprint. Altera Enpirion EN2342QI 4A PowerSoC DC-DC Converter integrates MOSFET switches, small-signal control circuits, compensation and an integrated inductor in an advanced 8x11x3mm QFN module. It offers high efficiency, excellent line and load regulation over temperature and up to the full 4A load range. The EN2342QI operates over a wide input voltage range and is specifically designed to meet the precise voltage and fast transient requirements of high-performance products. The EN2342QI features frequency synchronization to an external clock, power OK output voltage monitor, programmable soft-start along with thermal and over current protection. The device's advanced circuit design, ultra high switching frequency and proprietary integrated inductor technology delivers high-quality, ultra compact, non-isolated DC-DC conversion.

Altera Enpirion EC2630QI DC-DC Intermediate Voltage Bus Converter

Altera Enpirion EC2630QI is a high density DC-DC Intermediate Voltage Bus Converter which generates a highly efficient output voltage. EC2630QI tracks one half the input voltage and is designed to work with Enpirion's highly integrated DC to DC point-of-load converter products for a complete 12V solution. EC2630QI provides the means to condition power from a 12V input, to supply multiple lower voltage converters while enabling high efficiency and small PCB area. Due to its extremely high efficiency, it avoids the common two stage power conversion penalty and is equivalent or better than direct regulation. Applications include industrial, embedded, enterprise, and telecom.

Altera Enpirion EN5367QI DC-DC Buck Converter with Integrated Inductor

Altera Enpirion EN5367QI DC-DC Buck Converter with Integrated Inductor is a Power System on a Chip (PowerSoCTM), PWM controller, MOSFETs and compensation to provide the smallest solution size in a 5.5x10x3mm 54 pin QFN module. It offers high efficiency, excellent line and load regulation over temperature and up to the full 6A load range. The Enpirion EN5367QI DC-DC Buck Converter with Integrated Inductor is specifically designed to meet the precise voltage and fast transient requirements of high-performance, low-power processor, DSP, FPGA, memory boards and system level applications in distributed power architecture. Altera Enpirion EV1320QI DDR Memory Termination Converter

Altera Enpirion EV1320QI DDR Memory Termination Converters are DC to DC converters specifically designed for memory termination applications. The EV1320QI DDR Memory Termination Converter offers up to 96% high efficiency, while providing a solution footprint similar to that of a linear termination device, comes in a 3mm x 3mm x 0.55mm QFN 16-pin package, and requires only a small number of external MLCC capacitors. The EV1320QI DDR Memory Termination Converter is designed to operate directly from the VDDQ supply rail. No external divider or reference is required. The Enpirion EV1320QI DDR Memory Termination Converter provides a very stable output voltage (VTT) which tracks VDDQ while sinking and sourcing up to 2A of continuous output current. Up to 4 EV1320QI DDR Memory Termination Converter can be paralleled to source up to 8A of current. An ENABLE pin with output discharge is available for S3 (suspend to RAM) states.
