Cypress Semiconductor's PRoC-UI (Programmable Radio-on-Chip – User Interface) is Cypress' new integrated touch + wireless, System-on-Chip (SoC). It combines the low-power 2.4-GHz proprietary WirelessUSB™-NL Radio-on-a-Chip with Cypress' CapSense® and TrueTouch® capacitive touch technologies. PRoC-UI enables user interface functionality in wireless devices, including gestures that are compatible with the Windows 8™ applications. The one-chip solution also offers standard HID microcontroller functionality, effectively combining three chips into one to save BOM cost, board space, and power, while increasing reliability compared with multi-chip implementations.

Cypress TX2UL USB Transceivers
Cypress TX2UL USB Transceivers are the world’s smallest USB 2.0 ULPI transceiver. TX2UL is suitable for use in any application that already has a USB controller but requires a ULPI transceiver. TX2UL supports a high variable input voltage range of 3.0 V- 5.775 B, and is configurable to input frequencies of 13, 19.2, 24, 26 MHz. Along with its ultra small size (2.14 mm x 1.76 mm), TX2UL consumes only 5 uA in sleep mode, thus making it ideal for mobile and battery powered applications. TX2UL is well suited for applications such as USB modem dongle, handsets and other consumer electronic devices.

Cypress introduced CY7C656xx as part of its next generation HX2VL™ family of high performance, very low power USB 2.0 hub controllers. CY7C656xx USB 2.0 Hub Controllers
are ideally suited for ultra low power, high performance applications
that require up to four downstream ports. All downstream ports share a
single transaction translator and are backward compatible with FS, LS.
CY7C656xx USB 2.0 Hubs integrate 1.5 kohm upstream pull-up resistors for
full speed operation and all downstream 15 kohm pull-down resistors and
series termination resistors on all upstream and downstream D+ and D-
pins. The design optimizes system costs by providing support for the USB
2.0 specification. The devices are available in the 48-pin TQFP and
28-pin QFN package options. Cypress offers reference design kits which
include board schematics, bill of materials, Gerber files, Orcad files,
and thorough design documentation to support CY7C656xx USB 2.0 Hub
Controllers.

WirelessUSB™ NL 2.4 Hz Low Power Radio implements a Gaussian frequency-shift keying (GFSK) radio using a differentiated single-mixer, closed-loop modulation design that optimizes power efficiency and interference immunity. Closed-loop modulation effectively eliminates the problem of frequency drift, enabling WirelessUSB™ NL 2.4 Hz Low Power Radio to transmit up to 255-byte payloads without repeatedly having to pay power penalties for re-locking the phase locked loop (PLL) as in open-loop designs. Among the advantages of Cypress Semiconductor WirelessUSB™ NL 2.4 Hz Low Power Radio are its fast lock times and channel switching, along with the ability to transmit larger payloads. Use of longer payload packets, compared to multiple short payload packets, can reduce overhead, improve overall power efficiency, and help alleviate spectrum crowding.
