The Avago Technologies APDS-9301 and APDS-9303 are miniature ambient light photo sensors that approximate the human-eye response, provide precise illuminance measurement under diverse lighting conditions, and feature a programmable interrupt function with user-defined upper and lower threshold settings. The Avago Technologies APDS-9301 miniature ambient light photo sensor converts light intensity to digital signal output capable of direct I²C interface. The Avago Technologies APDS-9303 low-voltage miniature ambient light photo sensor converts light intensity to digital signal output capable of direct SMBus interface. The APDS-9301 and APDS-9303 consist of one broadband photodiode (visible plus infrared) and one infrared photodiode. Two integrating ADCs convert the photodiode currents to a digital output that represents the irradiance measured on each channel.
