The LBP01 Series are bypass switches that are to be connected in parallel with one or two LEDs. In case of LED failure, this allows the current to flow through the other LED. These STMicroelectronics’ devices provide overvoltage protection against surges as defined in IEC 61000-4-2 and IEC 61000-4-5. With a robust die, LEDs are protected against surge and are compatible with LEDs up to 1 A. Typical applications include automotive headlights, traffic lights, aircraft runway lights, emergency lighting systems, display panel backlighting, and street lighting.
