The charge pump can operate in either of a 1X, 2X and 3X mode. The boost converter operates at a fixed frequency of 1.0MHz and provides a 9V output with a minimum number of external components. Diodes Incorporated AL8807B High Efficiency PWM Dimmable Buck LED Driver is a step-down DC/DC converter designed to drive LEDs with a constant current. The device can drive up to 9 LEDs, depending on the forward voltage of the LEDs, in series from a voltage source of 6V to 36V. Series connection of the LEDs provides identical LED currents resulting in uniform brightness and eliminating the need for ballast resistors. The AL8807B switches at frequency up to 1MHz with controlled rise and fall times to reduce EMI. This allows the use of small size external components, minimizing the PCB area needed. Maximum output current of AL8807B is set via an external resistor connected between the VIN and SET input pins. Dimming is achieved by applying a PWM signal at the CTRL input pin. the average supply current is only 4.3uA at 1.8V. To support potable
equipment the AH1902/AH1903 can operate over the supply range of 1.6V to
3.6V and uses a hibernating clocking system to minimize the power
consumption. To minimize PCB space the AH1902 is available in small low
profile X1-DFN1216-4 and X2- DFN2015-6 packages while AH1903 is
available in a small low profile X1-DFN1216-4 package. The output is
activated with either a north or south pole of sufficient magnetic field

To support a wide range of demanding applications, the design has been optimized to operate over the supply range of 9.0V to 18V. For robustness and protections, the device integrates a low Rdson NMOS buffer power device along with an under voltage lockout, overvoltage clamp, a current limit, a dv/dt control and a thermal shutdown circuits. The overvoltage circuit limits the output voltage without shutting the device down to allow the load to continue operating during over voltage. Thermal shutdown can be either latching type (NIS5132MN1) or auto-retry type (NIS5132MN2).
