Avago APDS-9930 Miniature Ambient Light Photo Sensor offers a low-voltage Digital Ambient Light Photo Sensor that converts light intensity to digital signal output capable of direct I²C interface. Each device consists of one broadband photodiode (visible plus infrared) and one infrared photodiode. Two integrating ADCs convert the photodiode currents to a digital output that represents the irradiance measured on each channel. This digital output can be input to a microprocessor where illuminance (ambient light level) in lux is derived using an empirical formula to approximate the human-eye response.
Avago APDS-9130 Digital Proximity Sensor provides an IR LED and a complete proximity detection system in a single 8 pin package. The proximity function offers plug and play detection to 100 mm (without front glass) thus eliminating the need for factory calibration of the end equipment or sub-assembly. The proximity detection feature operates well from bright sunlight to dark rooms. The wide dynamic range also allows for operation in short distance detection behind dark glass such as a cell phone. The proximity function is targeted specifically towards near field proximity applications. In cell phones, the proximity detection can detect when the user positions the phone close to their ear. The device is fast enough to provide proximity information at a high repetition rate needed when answering a phone call. This provides both improved “green” power saving capability and the added security to lock the computer when the user is not present. Avago Technologies ACPL-M62L Ultra Low Power 10MBd Digital Optocouplers each combine an AlGaAs light-emitting diode and an integrated high-gain photo detector that addresses the low power need. The optocoupler consumes low power at maximum 1.5mA IDD across temperature. The forward current is as low as 2mA, and so allows direct current drive by most microprocessors. The ACPL-M62L Optocouplers support both 3.3V and 5V supply voltage with guaranteed AC and DC operational parameters from -40ºC to +105ºC. The output of the detector IC is an open-drain type. The internal Faraday shield provides a guaranteed common mode transient immunity specification of 20kV/μs.
