Practical and Reliable Connector Solutions for Discrete Wire
3M brings the convenience of insulation displacement contact termination to the flexibility and choice of discrete wire.
3M's CC-Link Connectors and Cables were
designed to meet the requirements of the CC-Link standard and to enable
T-Tab terminations as well as mid-cable terminations. The CC-Link
Connectors' hermaphroditic design reduces the number of components
required to interconnect and the well-approved IDC termination process
enables easy field termination and reduces labor cost relative to
traditional interconnect alternatives. In combination with Power Clamp
or Mini-Clamp products, a wire reduction of up to 70% can be achieved.
The 3M CC-Link Connectors and Cables are suitable for conductor sizes of
18 and 20 AWG of discrete wires or flat ribbon cables.
3M Power Clamp Connectors are designed to provide connection reliability and cost performance in I/O applications for a wide range of industrial controls systems, networking systems, medical equipment, and factory automation. The Power Clamp offering is suitable for CLPA's CC-Link open technology field level networking applications and protocols. Requiring only one hand, the One-Touch "just squeeze" wire termination uses standard pliers for easy field applications with no special wire preparation. The Power Clamp series offers a voltage rating of 250 volts and a current rating up to 10 amps for one contact and up to 7 amps with multiple contacts. The 3M Power Clamp Connectors include wiremount sockets and wiremount and panel mount plugs.
356 Series Power Clamp Headers
357 Series Power Clamp Branch Connectors
3M's 3810X & 3820X Series leverages 3M's IDC technology and
are designed to offer a safe and reliable electrical connection while
enabling cable extensions as well as T-Tab termination. The 3M 3810X
& 3820X Series features 2- and 4-position wire- and board-mount IDC
Link Connectors and a hermaphroditic four-point contact mating structure
that reduces the number of different components required for wiring.
Designed to terminate easily in the field using a standard pair of
pliers, the IDC Link Connectors do not require any special tooling or
pretreatment of cables. The 3M 3810X & 3820X Series can accept wire
diameters from 1.1mm to 2.54mm and accommodate discrete or flat ribbon
cable with conductor sizes between 18 and 22 AWG. Latches and
polarization ensure proper mating of the connectors.
3M Mini-Clamp connector provides easy, labor-saving, and reliable IDC termination with no special wire preparation. The connector is designed
to provide connection reliability and cost performance in I/O
applications commonly found in a wide range of sensor control systems,
including factory automation and industrial controls. The connector
features a semi-transparent cover, color-coded covers for proper
wire-usage, wire alignment, and retention built into the cover.
3M CHG Series .100” Wiremount Sockets connects 22-28 AWG discrete cable
in a socket which can be plugged into industry-standard .100” pinstrip
and four-wall box headers. The CHG Series socket features 3M's patented
L/H contact, designed for low insertion and high retention force. It is
offered with DIN style polarization or without, and four wiping points
per contact when mated to a .318” header pin. Flat ribbon cable can be
used after it is prepped with a notcher.
3M 2mm x 2mm 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets & 159 Series Shrouded
Boardmount Headers provide a robust and compact cable-to-board
connection solution. The 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets provide a
reliable ribbon cable to board interface in a variety of applications,
and terminate to 1 mm pitch ribbon cable. The 159 Series Shrouded
Boardmount Headers mate to the 158 Series Ribbon Cable Sockets. 3M
offers each series in multiple configurations. Configurations include an
adhesive-backed cover for robust termination, "sword pack" to deliver
higher speed termination operations, and friction-latch versions for
increased protection against accidental disconnect.
