3M High Density I/O Connectors and Assemblies

3M IDC Discrete Wire Sockets & Headers

Practical and Reliable Connector Solutions for Discrete Wire

3M brings the convenience of insulation displacement contact termination to the flexibility and choice of discrete wire.

  • 3M™ Link Connectors are designed to meet the requirements of the CC-Link standard and to enable T-Tab terminations as well as mid-cable terminations.
  • Mini-Clamp Connectors are designed to provide connection reliability and cost performance in I/O applications commonly found in a wide range of sensor control systems, including factory automation and industrial controls.
  • The Power Clamp offering is suitable for CLPA‘s CC-Link open technology field level networking applications and protocols. These connectors do not require any special tooling or pre-treatment of cables, and can be terminated using a standard pair of pliers.
  • CHG Series from 3M connects 22-28 AWG discrete cable in a socket which can be plugged into industry standard .100” pin strip and four-wall box headers.
  • 158/159 Series Sockets terminate to 1mm pitch ribbon cable while the Shrouded Boardmount Headers maximize design flexibility and minimize the PCB footprint.

CC-Link

3M's CC-Link Connectors and Cables were designed to meet the requirements of the CC-Link standard and to enable T-Tab terminations as well as mid-cable terminations. The CC-Link Connectors' hermaphroditic design reduces the number of components required to interconnect and the well-approved IDC termination process enables easy field termination and reduces labor cost relative to traditional interconnect alternatives. In combination with Power Clamp or Mini-Clamp products, a wire reduction of up to 70% can be achieved. The 3M CC-Link Connectors and Cables are suitable for conductor sizes of 18 and 20 AWG of discrete wires or flat ribbon cables.
